Counsellor and Psychotherapist in Guildford, Woking, Aldershot and surrounding areas.
Hello, and welcome to my page. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the counselling and psychotherapy sessions I offer and I will be happy to help put your mind at ease.
I am an experienced and fully trained Psychotherapist and Counsellor based in Guildford and surrounding areas. I offer adolescent and child psychotherapy and counselling in Worplesdon, near Woking and Guildford, as well as psychotherapy and counselling to adults and couples in and around Aldershot, Worplesdon, Woking, Guildford, Brookwood, Knaphill.
Sometimes we face struggles in life that are overwhelming, trying to find balance in our busy lives can be difficult. I work with many clients respecting their varying needs, I believe we are all unique and with this in mind I safely integrate different theories into my work to enable a safe and personal journey through the counselling process. Please see more on my About Counselling page
I provide a safe, warm, comfortable and respectful space, where I would encourage you to share your thoughts, emotions and feelings without fear of judgement. Together we could identify any problems in your life, exploring alternative choices, leading to understanding and overcoming these difficulties.
We will work together, with anxieties and the impact on your life in general to highlight events, triggers and causes of difficulties, allowing you to move forward in your desired direction. Gaining awareness in life and understanding actions, habits and behavioural patterns, can be empowering and beneficial, leading to the changes you wish to make for a more contented life.
Offering time to talk and reflect, focusing on yourself within a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment, can help you develop coping skills, confidence, communication skills and a deeper understanding of self.
Adolescent and Child Psychotherapy and Counselling
I have worked extensively with children through my careers over the past 30 years, Please visit my Qualifications and Experience page . I am happy to see children from age 11+ (yr7 and up). My approach is integrative and flexible. Your child's well-being is my main concern along with gaining a good working relationship based on trust. In the modern world of the internet and constant testing at schools, plus all the normal hormonal changes, children can face a lot of difficulties and anxieties, leaving them feeling vulnerable and confused. I will encourage your child to speak and communicate in a way that they will be heard. Through these sessions children are able to see how capable they are of change within themselves, gaining confidence and being able to cope with difficult situations in the future. I am able to work in various ways with children, including creative therapy. Adolescents and children leaving therapy sessions with me have stated, 'I would never have got back to university without your help', 'You are the first counsellor who has really listened to me' and 'Thank you for helping me with my anxiety, I am not scared anymore.
Couples and Pre-Marital Counselling
Providing the same space as I do for adult counselling (see above). I find couples work in therapy often includes arriving at the same goal for your relationship. With this in mind we will work together to resolve any issues or if you wish we could work towards an amicable seperation. Clients have stated having the space for clear communication and time to talk without interruptions, with the help of a non-judgemental and supportive third party in the room, has been beneficial.
Pre-Marital Counselling can explore yourrelationship going forward and any differences you may have. Maybe you have differing ideas on raising children, life values, work ethic, money management etc
I have experience working with a wide range of difficulties including, anxiety, depression, traumas (past or present), panic, sexuality and identity, low self-worth, low self-esteem, illness, bereavement and relationships. All of these difficulties and more can impact our lives in a detrimental way, maybe you feel unhappy and have lost some enjoyment in life. You may feel you need some strategies for coping, or someone alongside who will listen and not judge while you 'offload'.
I am able to work with my clients on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period.
I am a fully Qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor, based in Guildford and Worplesdon, Surrey and a registered member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Subject to availability, I work throughout the working week 9am - 8pm (earlier by special arrangement), please visit my Availability and Fees page.
